We are passionate about learning by doing at Castelli International, a belief that underpins our school motto ‘When I hear and I forget, when I see and I remember and when I do and I understand.’
Our Middle School students were challenged to recreate figurative artworks by well known artists and in doing so had to learn about the life of the artist, their chosen painting and express why the artwork personally resonated with them.
Each student had to physically reenact the painting and interpret the look, feel, colour, mood and symbolism of the work as faithfully as possible. Their work was photographed and proudly displayed in the school for everybody to admire.
This full immersion was a big hit with our students and they enthusiastically embraced the opportunity to be living art!
